First Look The 2011 Jaguar XJ is one of the dooziest transformations we’ve seen in the recent past. The earlier Jaguar XJ was an absolutely perfect modern car, but under that contemporary skin, there was the entire history of Jaguar’s preceding 30 years. Even the interiors of the car were so decayed, that the car actually looked like a growing mold. This is what made the Jaguar automotive engineers that something drastic is needed, and not only to let this flagship opulent sedan going in the market, but at the same time to invigorate the brand itself. And the 2011 Jaguar XJ is what the engineers came up with. This is the drastic change they were talking about. The old styling is completely gone from the car and in its place the 2011 Jaguar XJ gets a completely new and striking design cues from the midsize Jaguar XF and even certain cues from the new ones as well.
What’s New for 2011 Jaguar XJ? The 2011 Jaguar XJ is a completely redesigned car. Body Styling and Features The 2011 Jaguar XJ is a completely redesigned huge luxury sedan and is available in two body styles of: normal and extended-wheelbase four-door body styles. Both the body styles of the car are available in three different trim levels, which matches with the engines they are powered with: XJ, XJ Supercharged and XJ Supersport. The standard equipment list for the XJ comes with 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, an adaptive suspension, a power-closing trunk lid, mechanical xenon headlamps, keyless entry/ignition, auto-dimming mirrors, a rearview camera, rear and front parking sensors, power front seats 12 way passenger and 16-way driver having memory functions, dual-zone automatic climate control, cooled and heated front seats, leather upholstery and heated rear seats and the steering wheel here is power tilt-and-telescoping. There also are some other standard equipment available for the XJ, such as a touchscreen electronics interface, an LCD digital gadget panel, a navigation system, Bluetooth (audio streaming and phone connection), a 14-speaker sound system having CD player, voice controls, an iPod interface, digital music storage, satellite radio and HD radio.
The XJL comes with four-zone mechanical climate control, 19-inch wheels instead of the XJ, 20-way power front seats having massage function, a power rear sunshade, cooled and heated rear seats, faux-suede headliner and extensive leather trim.
The XJL Supercharged and XJ Supercharged come with adaptive headlights, a Bowers & Wilkins best surround-sound system having 20-speaker and 20-inch wheels in addition to all the equipments of XJL. Under The Hood The 2011 Jaguar XJ gets its power from a 5.0 liter V8 engine which generates maximum power of 385 hp and 380 pound-feet of maximum torque.
