2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse – Affordable Convertible
First Look The days of affordable, front wheel drive sport coupes such as Acura RSX, Toyota Celica and Honda Prelude, hailing from Japan are gone way back, and the 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse we are talking about here is one of the last of its class. Consumer’s tastes have changed significantly, and so have the corporate priorities shifted. As a matter of fact, the modern auto market can be seen as the rebirth of economical fun cars, but most of these cars belong to the hot hatch genus. But if you still are hung up on those sports coupe from the good old days, and mock at the dorky hatch, then the 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse clearly is a decent option. One another impressive thing here is that it is among the very few convertibles available in its price range. Right from the first time they were launched in the market, the Eclipse Spyder convertible and coupe have mainly stood out in the market, because of their extreme styling highlighted by forward-sloping beltline, a completely raked windshield, and encircling, curvy rear end. The current 2011 Eclipse is also more or less about the same styling.
What’s New for 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse? The base model of 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse gets an all new allow wheels, and to make it even more luring it also has got a price reduction. The GS Sport trim, now has a power driver and heated leather front seats, as its standard equipments. The GT trim now doesn’t have a manual transmission. And lastly, all the Eclipse coupe trim gets a blacked-out roof.
Body Styling and Features The 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse is available in two body styles: Spyder convertible and Coupe.
Both the body styles available here seat four people and are available in GT and GS Sport trim level, though you gets an added base GS trim for the coupe. The standard equipments for the GS trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, air-conditioning, full power accessories, cruise control, a 50/50-split rear seatback, a six-speaker sound system along with CD player and a tilt-only steering wheel. While, the GS Sport gets Foglights, xenon headlights, heated power mirrors, a sunroof, a six-way power driver seat, heated leather front seats, a nine-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system along with six-CD changer, auxiliary audio jack, steering wheel mounted controls, satellite radio and Bluetooth in addition to the equipments offered in GS trim levels. The Spyder comes with a power convertible roof. And the GT gets standard V6 engine, a better rear stabilizer bar, larger rear brakes, automatic climate control and huge rear spoiler ( for coupe only).
