Ford confirms talks with potential Volvo buyers



Ford is having trouble offloading its failing Volvo subsidiary but the company is determined to sell it and has already started approaching potential buyers in spite of the tough economic conditions. The Blue Oval has now taken a step closer to a sale of Volvo, confirming that talks between it and potential suitors have taken place and could lead to the first indicative bids by next month.

Speaking with Automotive News, Ford’s European director of strategic communications, John Gardiner, said there has been “contact with a number of parties who’ve expressed interest concerning the future of Volvo”.
